MahaShivRatri - 2013
Bharat
Sevashram Sangha, Hyderabad in accordance
with Hindu tradition, celebrated Maha
Shiva Ratri (The Night of Shiva) with
chanting and devotion, commencing
from 1930 hours and concluding at
approximately 2130 hours. The Night
of Shiva’ is celebrated with
devotion and religious fervor in honor
of Lord Shiva, one of the deities
of the Hindu Trinity. Shivaratri falls
on the moonless 14th night of the
new moon in the Hindu month of Phalgun.
On the occasion of Mahashivaratri,
hundreds of devotees congregate at
this holy site to celebrate this divine
festival in the Hindu calendar during
24-hour observances.

of Sri Guru Maharaj at Bharat Sevashram
Sangha, Hyderabad

25, 2013, Hyderabad: Hundreds
of devotees' enthusiastically thronged
the Ashram premises on the auspicious
day of Maghi Purnima on Monday (25.02.2013).
This day the Sangha Guru Swami Pranavanandaji
Maharaj took his human form in order
to erase the miseries of millions
of underprivileged and downtrodden.
Swami Munishwaranandaji
Maharaj, Secretary of the Hyderabad
Branch, led the community prayer of
Guruji Maharaj at 11:00 AM. Later
ANNA-Mahaprasadam was distributed
to all the attendees.

CYCLONE RELIEF WORK

A
depression due to cyclonic storm
'Nilam' brought copious rains
in and around coastal Andhra area,
which caused immense damage paralyzing
normal life in districts of Vizianagaram
and West Godavari,
When the government machinery’s
were busy assessing the damage
caused by the flood, Bharat
Sevashram Sangha took the first
step in reaching out to flood
affected areas and helping those
paralyzed by the heavy rains.
When Dr. Radha, disaster management
commissioner of Govt. of AP
raised the alarm by calling
an emergency, a team of sanyasis,
sevaks, volunteers from Bharat
Sevashram Sangha, Hyderabad
and Bharat Sevashram Sangha,
Head Office, Kolkata, lead by
Swami Munishwarananda, secretary,
Hyderabad rushed to the flood
affected spots.
The first relief camp was organized
on 07/Nov/2012 at Escort Mandal,
Lkota Mandal of Vizianagaram
Dist. of A.P. MRO Mr. P. Venkateshwara
Rao, Mrs. P. Ramalamna, Local
MLA, Escort Mandal, Mr.Peddika
Rajendra Murthy along with BSS
team took part in the relief
campaign.
A total of 300+ sarees, 4000+
biscuits, 100+ jamkhanas (blankets
and groundsheets) were distributed
in the region.
The second relief camp was
organized on 9/Nov/2012 at Ellore,
YSR Colony. District revenue
officer Sri Mohan Raju played
an important and pivotal role
in running the BSS team relief
campaign at West Godavari. A
total of 1500+ sarees, 100+
jamkhanas(blankets+groundsheets)
and 6000+ biscuits were distributed
to the affected.
BSS received immense appreciation
for their noble work from the
collectors of Vizianagaram and
West Godavari districts.

Sangha’s
branch at Hyderabad has celebrated
Sri Krishna Janmasthami at its
premises on August 09, 2012(Thursday)
with much pomp and gait.
Devotees from different parts
of the city and around have
thronged the temple and took
immense pleasure in participating
in several rituals including
hawan (sacred fire) during the
occasion.
About 3000 devotees including
woman and children later had
Sri Krishna anna prasadam, the
special delicacy befitting the
celebration.
Swami Muniswarananda, Sangha
Secretary, took special initiatives
and taken all precautions to
see that the occasion went smoothly.

EXCELLS Notebook distribution
to poor students in Andhra Pradesh
covering over 380 schools |
In a country where thirty percent
of its population is eventually
languishing below the bureaucracy
estimated poverty line and another
thirty percent can hardly afford
to send their children to schools
after meeting their bare minimum
expenses for survival, it is
but fancy to talk about spreading
education.
However, not just making any
comment on all such historical
figures, the dedicated monks
of the Sangha's Hyderabad branch
led by Swami Muniswarananda
and ably assisted by Swami Mahabratananda
and Swami Venkateswarananda,
recently took out a massive
notebook distribution program
in several telengana districts
of Andhra Pradesh. The exercise
was mooted for the ultimate
benefit of economically backward
students of hundreds of Government
Upper Primary and Primary schools
teaching in Telugu, English
and Urdu mediums. In this laudable
effort, many volunteers like
Dr. Pranab, Ashoke, Indra, Manoj,
Jatin, Gauranga, Ganesh and
Narsimha lent their eventful
assitance.
Several districts were toured
by completely defying the June-July
ordeal of incessant monsoon
rains and also impounding extremist
threats while covering remote
tribal belts (Thandas).

ANNUAL
ANNAPURNA AND ANNAKUT PUJA AT
BHARAT SEVASHRAM SANGHA, HYDERABAD |
March,
31, 2012 (Saturday) saw a resurgent
congregation of hundreds of thousand
devotees at the premises of the
Hyderabad branch of Bharat Sevashram
Sangha, the world renowned philanthropic
and charitable outfit of this
era.
The occasion was of Shri Shri
Annapurna and Annakut Puja utsav,
an annual confluence of spiritual
fervor. Amidst prayer rituals,
lighting of holy fire, there
was also a religious conference
that caught the divine imaginations
of the people gathered.
Swami Muniswarananda, Secretary,
Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Hyderabad,
in his clarion call highlighted
the significance of Annapurna
Puja which spelled the theme
of sharing the wealth of "Have"
to those of "Have-not".
This single point agenda of
distributing one's earnings
to those of underprivileged,
was first mooted into the Sangha
ideals by its illustrious founder-patriot
Acharya Swami Pranavanandaji
Maharaj, since its inception
in 1917.
Other speakers, who addressed
the mammoth gathering, included
M/S. Kedarnath Agarwal, M.D.,
Ravi Foods Pvt. Ltd., Kattedhan,
Navin, Dealer of HP, Dr. Chaitanyamoy
Ganguli, President, Cameco India

nobility of charity in human

Later over three thousand devotees
participated in the program
and had Annaprasadam during

As
a part of this grand celebration,
an annual "Religious Conference"
was organized at the premises
of the Sangha. Renowned
speakers like Hon'ble Justice
N. Rama Mohan Rao of Andhra
Pradesh Hugh Court, who also
presided over the function,
mesmerized the audience by his
depth of spiritual knowledge
and shared a spell of authentic
religious aura. Later, Shri
C. D. Tirumala Rao, IPS, Commissioner
of Police, Cyberabad, made a
fervent appeal to the audience
for embracing the path of righteousness
throughout their life and serve
the people irrespective of their
caste, creed and religion as
if they are serving Lord Madhava.

maharaj, Secretary, Bharat Sevashram
Sangha, Hyderabad, gave his
clarion call to the huge congregation.
He aptly narrated his own supreme
faith in the universal teachings
of the Sangha Guru Sreemat Swami
Pranavandaji Maharaj and categorically
urged one and all to sincerely
emulate the Guru Maharaj's practical
experience with the ultimate
truth of life for their own
spiritual wellbeing.
Earlier,
Swami Venkateswaranandaji Maharaj
welcomed the dignitaries to
the designated podium while
Dr. Pranab Bhattacharya, a Sangha
devotee, concluded the proceedings
with humble vote-of-thanks.
During the
festive schedule, over thousands
of poor people, both men and
women, were given new clothing
besides feeding them with "Anna
bhog prasadam".
Later, Das
Music International, a city-based
concert, enthralled the gathering
through the rendering famous
Bengali and Hindi devotional
songs and bhajans.

GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS OF "BHARAT
SEVASHRAM SANGHA" FOR THE
BENEFITS OF POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED
PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS OF ANDHRA
PRADESH.(2011) |
Under the
aegis of Bharat Sevashram Sangha,
Hyderabad, this year (2011)
also, a massive arrangement
for free distribution of over
2,00,000 notebooks was made
to the poor primary school students,
including the agency areas,
in the various adjoining districts
of capital city of Hyderabad
in Andhra Pradesh. This year
the districts were covered namely
Mehboobnagar, Karnool, Warrangle,
Nizamabad and Adilabad.
This philanthropic endeavor
of the Sangha was started since
2008. Irrespective caste, creed
or religion, every poor students
were given five notebooks each
free-of-cost every year wherein
about 40,000 students are directly
getting benefited.
The selection of districts
was varied every year so that
the benefits reach to a vast
horizon of students of the state
of Andhra Pradesh.
The order to make this distribution
well organized, many district
collectors and also relief officers
of the government of Andhra
Pradesh with the effective guidance
from Swami Muniswaranandaji
Maharaj are making remarkable
progress in this arena.

On 11th
April 2011, Bharat Sevashram
Sangha, Hyderabad, organized
the Annapurna and Annakut puja
within ashram premises managed
and coordinated by Swami Munishwarananda
and Swami Venkateshwarananda.
People from in and around
Hyderabad flocked to attend,
witness and participate in the
religious emancipation: Sri
Annapurna puja 2011. After the
puja, ‘Annakut Bhog’
was distributed among devotees.
An evening gathering was held
to hold a religious conference
presided by the dignitaries
– Dr. Chaitonyamoy Ganguly,
Mr.Ramesh Agarwal and Swami
Munishwarananda. The dignitaries
shared their thoughts, preaching
and practices with the devotees
and spiritually invigorated
them. Ashram’s immense
participation in donation, flood
rescue camps and other social
service initiatives were also
discussed. The program was followed
by the idol immersion procession
ceremony on 12th April,
2011 and it was drawn to a conclusion. |

About 30,000 nos. of notebooks
were handed over to the concerned

Collector.
MAHBOOBNAGAR
DIST.

About 30,000 notebooks were
distributed amongst the students
with economically backward status
during June 28-30, 2010. A total
of 19 schools were covered.

who supervised the distribution.
KARIMNAGAR
DIST.

40 schools were covered in
the district during July 5-7,2010.
Students from economically backward
community were helped with free

himself with this philanthropic
work of the Sangha.
MEDAK DIST.
22 schools were covered during
July 19-21, 2010. 30,000 notebooks
were distributed through Shri

21 schools were covered during
August 16-18, 2010. As many
as 30,000 notebook copies were
handed over to poor students
by Shri Rajiv Sarma, AGM, SBH
Regional Office.
NALGONDA
DIST.

Joint Collector of the district
had participated in the notebook
distribution program. Poor students
of about 19 schools were benefited
during August 23-24, 2010. About
30.000 copies were distributed.
HYDERABAD
CITY

About 2000 copies of notebooks
were distributed to over 400
local poor students from around
the city on August, 31, 2010,
under the benevolence of Shri
Sudhir Garg, Chief General Manager,
SBH, Hyderabad, at the Bharat
Sevashram Sangha premises. At
Chintal Basti too similar distribution
was held and about 3000 notebooks
were distributed to underprivileged
students.
During the official renaming
ceremony of erstwhile Lower
Tank Bund Road to Bharat Sevashram
Marg, Shri Naveen Mittal, Special
Commissioner, GHMC, had cut
the ceremonial ribbon while
declaring open the road in its
new avatar. During the occasion,
10 tri-cycles were distributed
to physically-handicapped poor
people.

RELIEF

This branch of Bharat Sevashram
Sangha had vigorously persuaded
the relief work during May 23-26,
2010, at Ongole, Prakasham Dist.
About 15000 Saris and 20,000
packaged biscuits were distributed
amongst the affected people.

had extended their valuable

30,000 note books were distributed
to the students of various local
schools at those two places.
A total of 2 lakhs note books
will be distributed in various
districts in Andhra Pradesh. |

massive Free Note Book Distribution
Programme will begin in June,
2009. Printing Process is on.
Our estimate target is Rs. 10
Lakhs. Each Single Copy Cost is
Rs. 5/- (Approx.). You can take
part in this programme by financially
helping the scheme to fulfill
our target and to bring smile
on the face of the poor students

RELIEF in BIHAR |

Responding
to the suffering of lakhs of people
due to unprecedented flood the
Sangha undertaken Relief
Works in Madhepura, Saharsa,
Purnia districts in Bihar. Sangha’s
monks and volunteers have been
serving untiringly from August
26, 2008 to support the
flood affected people. Cooked
food, dry foods, polythene sheets,
clothing are being served to the
needy flood victims in 28 shelters
in those areas. Sangha’s
Chief Coordinator Swami Bishwatmanandaji
Maharaj filed this report. |

State Bank of Hyderabad donated
another vehicle to the Sangha
On 8th April, 2008. SBH CGM Sri
P.K. Panda formally handed over
the Keys of the Relief Van to
Swami Munishwaranandji, the Secretary
of the branch of the Sangha in
a simple ceremony held in the
SBH Head Quarter at Gun Foundry,
Hyderabad. |
