Relief Works for the Ockhi Cyclone at Trivandrum and Kanyakumari -2017
On 2nd December 2017 the Super Cyclone Ockhi caused a huge rampage at the Kanyakumari and Trivandrum area of Kerala and Tamilnadu. People of coastal area suffered maximum due to the heavy wind and humungous sea waves similar to a tsunami. A team of Sannyasis lead by Swami Venkateshwarananda (Hyderabad Branch) and other Swamijis of Trivandrum and Kanyakumari branch of Bharat Sevashram Sangha rushed immediately to the affected area after indication from their Kolkata Head Office. They have distributed 2000 T-shirts, 2000 Saris, 800 biscuit packets,Candles and dhotis among the marooned people. Following places have been covered during the relief operations:
Punthura,Ambolatara,Kovalam Beach, Suchimdram,Mudurampatti, Puththumol,Indira Colony,BalakrishnaPore, Kodai gram etc.”
